KATHMANDU, AUG 29 - Top leaders of big three parties—UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress and CPN-UML—have been bestowed upon the responsibility of forging consensus to end the current political deadlock in the country. The meeting of the big three parties, convened at Special Committee hall in New Baneshwor, concluded that there was no alternative to consensus and charged the top guns with the responsibility for the same. The meeting, however, failed to decide the alternatives—Constituent Assembly election or revival—to end the current impasse. UML leader Ishwor Pokharel said the leaders were given the responsibility to decide upon the alternatives. Emerging from the meeting, NC leader Minendra Rijal said the meeting was fruitful and talks were held on a positive note. UCPN (M) Chairman Puspa Kamal Dahal, NC President Sushil Koirala, UML Chairman Jhala Nath Khanal, among other leaders, were present in the meeting.
