KATHMANDU, AUG 03 -
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Friday said the nation has been heading towards political and constitutional crisis as the political parties failed to forge consensus on contentious issues even after the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly.
During the meeting with the district presidents of Nepali Congress at Shital Niwas on Friday, the president assured to resolve all the issues forging political consensus as being the guardian of the constitution.
President Yadav expressed his belief that the problems will be resolved at the earliest as he has already urged the major four political parties to forge political consensus.
On the occasion, the district presidents requested the president to play the role of a guardian to end political and constitutional crisis.
Earlier, on Thursday, district presidents met party President Sushil Koirala and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and requested them to play a leadership role to end political deadlock.
